Álvaro González Jiménez
Research Assistant at Scientia Terrae
I work at Scientia Terrae since April 2022. It all started with a 5 month internship for a European project after my studies in Environmental Sciences in Spain. After my internship I got a permanent contract and started on the Nematology department, where I work ever since.
A lot of freedom and responsibility is given, but at the same time there are always specialized colleagues around who you can count on if you need help.
It was a great decision to move to Belgium for Scientia Terrae because here I can gain more experience and learn a lot about nematology, bacteria and fungi. Besides that, my English keeps improving every day and I get to learn Dutch. We even received Dutch classes at Scientia Terrae!
Personally I am really triggered by the opportunity to learn new things and the environment I got submerged in at Scientia Terrae is really interesting. I am surrounded by colleagues with a lot of knowledge and we get to learn a lot from each other.
The things I like the most about Scientia Terrae is the respect for everyone, the international environment and the chances you get here. A lot of freedom and responsibility is given, but at the same time there are always specialized colleagues around who you can count on if you need help.
