Representative at DCM

One of my customers told me there was a vacancy at DCM. So I took my chance and went for an interview with Herman De Ceuster, the founder of DCM. That very evening it was settled, I was allowed to start!

I have been a representative for DCM for 22 years. I am currently responsible for the Antwerp and Waasland region. My customers are mainly garden centres which sell our range of DCM products. They are people I know very well in the meantime, we share joys and sorrows so to speak. My job hasn't really changed much over the years. What I do more often now is providing training to customer store employees to explain the use and action of our products. The nice thing about this job is that it is extremely varied, it is not only "drinking coffee and chatting", but also rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty. I have a strong bond with my customers, I don’t want to sell them something that they are not interested in. I give them advice and if I find that a certain product is not appropriate for their shop, I will say so.

Group DC is a family business. I like the fact that we know who we are working for. The De Ceuster family are correct people who have their feet on the ground. They invest continuously in the various companies of the group and therefore also in us, their staff. Herman De Ceuster once said to me: "If you make me grow, I will make you grow..."..
